Water Preparedness by helping to release the Barriers to Trade

Interested community members and stakeholders are invited to join us at Deakin University, Warrnambool, on Wednesday 5th February to discuss Water Preparedness, Barriers to Trade and the South West  Sustainable Water Strategy.

Coordinated by Food & Fibre Great South Coast, the meeting will include guest speakers Cameron Fitzgerald - Southern Rural Water, Jesse Rose, Co-Executive Director of Water Resource Strategy -DEECA, Ralph Cotter - Ag Vic and Ian Bail - Wannon Water.                                                                                                
The meeting will include a discussion on the Regional Drought Resilience Plan; an update on the implementation of Groundwater Management 2030 and the Victorian Government response to drought conditions across the southwest; discussion on the SRW barriers to trade project outcomes; and an update on actions SRW are implementing to address the identified barriers to trade, with a particular focus on the newly launched trading platform.

This will be followed by a Panel Discussion "Issues and Opportunities in the region and next steps to the South West Sustainable Water Strategy", which will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to get their points across with real time engagement.
